Ant’s ziggurats, Termite’s towers, those hexagonal tubes, the perfect mosaic of bees. Bird’s nests. Spider’s wed or mole’s galleries nets. Beaver’s dam. Many animals transform their landscape. Humans do, too. The more complex is the equation that rules the balance between needs and resources, the more organic the forms get. Nature performs a very elegant creativity. The difference in the case of humans, is their incredible transformational power, the unbounded scale of their work, the vocation of lasting over time, raising the art of architecture and engineering, transforming with transport webs and urban tissues the skin of the planet.
I developped this work in 2015 for the exhibition “Verkehr für Mensch” (“Traffic for humans”), 11th October 2015 – 10th November 2015, that took place in the GG3 Gallerie with the work of another 12 artists.
